My Story
I Didn't Go Looking for This Fight
I grew up competing in pageants. I loved the discipline, the community, the opportunity to speak about things that mattered. But for a long time, I wasn't sure what my platform would be. I wanted something real — something I could stand behind not just on a stage, but in my everyday life.
Then I met a retired racing greyhound. I wasn't prepared for what that encounter would do to me. There was something in the way he moved — cautious, curious, like he was learning the world for the very first time — that stopped me cold. I started asking questions. The answers changed everything.
I learned that greyhounds spend most of their racing lives in crates, sometimes 20 or more hours a day. I learned about the injuries, the deaths, the dogs who simply disappear when they're no longer profitable. I learned that most people have no idea this industry still exists. And I knew, in that moment, that I had found my platform.
I wasn't looking for a cause. The cause found me — in the eyes of a dog who had never known what it meant to be loved.

When I was crowned, I made a promise: every stage, every interview, every crown appearance would be used to speak for the dogs who can't speak for themselves. #GraceandGreyhounds isn't just a hashtag — it's a commitment to use whatever platform I have to end greyhound racing.
Education
Bringing the truth about greyhound racing to audiences who've never heard it.
Adoption
Connecting retired racers with loving families who will give them the life they deserve.
Legislation
Advocating for bans and protections at the state and federal level.
Why Greyhounds
Because Nobody Else Was Saying Their Names
Greyhound racing is one of the most overlooked forms of animal exploitation in the United States. Unlike factory farming or puppy mills, it operates in a legal gray zone — regulated in some states, banned in others, and largely invisible to the general public.
These dogs are bred for speed and discarded when they slow down. They are gentle, sensitive, and deeply loyal — qualities that make their suffering all the more heartbreaking. They deserve advocates who will say their names loudly and often.
I chose greyhounds because the problem is solvable. Forty-five states have already banned racing. With enough awareness, enough voices, and enough political will, we can end it everywhere.
