Greyhounds are one of the most misunderstood breeds in the world. People assume they're high-energy, high-maintenance, or difficult to manage. The truth is almost the opposite. Retired racers are calm, gentle, and deeply affectionate. They sleep up to 18 hours a day. They rarely bark. They are, in the words of nearly every adopter, the perfect apartment dog.
When you adopt a retired racer, you're not just giving a dog a home. You're making a direct statement about the industry that used them. Every adoption is an act of advocacy.
Despite their speed, greyhounds are couch dogs at heart — gentle and low-key inside the home.
Short coats, minimal shedding, and no doggy odor. They're easier to care for than most breeds.
Greyhounds bond deeply with their families and are typically wonderful with children and adults alike.
They do well in apartments, houses, cities, and suburbs — as long as they have a soft place to land.
